  1. 1Why it matters

    Protect the transitions

Check that the previous user's session has ended before the next student starts. Lock staff devices when leaving the room. Allow district-managed updates and report repeated failures rather than turning management off. Store school devices according to the campus procedure, including charging, physical security and checkout records when applicable.

Avoid quick fixes that add risk

Do not install an unapproved browser extension, disable protections or attach unknown storage to repair a classroom issue. Record the symptom and contact support. For a lost device, report promptly with the inventory information you have; do not assume a device is safe because a password was set. The district can assess access and remote-management options.

  2. 2Do this

    • Update and restart

Follow school update and restart instructions. Don't put them off for weeks.

    • Lock your screen

Stepping away? Lock it first. It takes a second and keeps your work private.

    • Report problems

Report a lost device or strange behavior right away. Skip risky do-it-yourself fixes.

    Keep it ready
    • Restart when asked
    • Lock before you leave
    • Charge and store safely
    • No unknown add-ons

Device missing? Report it right away, even if you hope it turns up. A password alone does not keep a lost device safe.

  3. 3Quick check

A managed update repeatedly fails. What should you do?
A school device is missing. What action is appropriate?

Choose an answer for each question.
