# K12 Cyber Forward (GLET) > K12 Cyber Forward is a cybersecurity improvement program for Georgia public school districts, run by GLET (Georgia Leaders of Educational Technology), Georgia's chapter of CoSN (Consortium for School Networking). Districts assess their cybersecurity maturity with the Cybersecurity Rubric 2.0 - 22 categories organized under the six NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0 functions (Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover), each described across five maturity levels - then plan owned improvements, keep supporting evidence and choose a level of review. Key facts: - Who it serves: Georgia K-12 public school districts - technology leaders, superintendents and cabinets, business officials and operational teams (HR, finance), plus staff, families and students through community safety resources. - Run by: GLET, Georgia's CoSN chapter (https://www.theglet.org/). Community partner: CyberCon GA (https://cyberconga.org/). - Three review pathways, kept separate from rubric ratings: Level 1 self-assessed (district team); Level 2 guided and assisted (named facilitator); Level 3 independently reviewed (named third-party verifier; issues a time-bounded review record for a stated scope). None certifies that a control works. - How to join: an authorized district contact submits a participation request at https://k12cyberforward.com/join; GLET reviews the district and contact before preparing any portal access. - Learning content in the portal is original practical guidance, not formal rubric certification training. - Optional pool track: districts can ask about a separately governed, member-funded self-insurance pool. Program participation, rubric scores and review records do not bind insurance, guarantee payment, set prices or determine coverage; policy terms and authorized decisions control. - Data: professional information only (no student records); hosted on a dedicated server in Atlanta, Georgia; uploads encrypted at rest; individual district results are never ranked publicly. - Contact: https://k12cyberforward.com/contact Program information updated: 2026-10-12 ## Program - [Georgia K-12 cybersecurity, together](https://k12cyberforward.com/): Program overview: approach, audiences, the Cybersecurity Rubric 2.0 foundation, review pathways and community resources. - [About the program and the people behind it](https://k12cyberforward.com/about): Who runs the program (GLET, Georgia's CoSN chapter), partners (CoSN, CyberCon GA), principles and governance. - [From a common rubric to practical progress](https://k12cyberforward.com/how-it-works): The four-step improvement cycle, the six NIST CSF 2.0 functions, and the three review pathways (self-assessed, guided, independently reviewed). - [Inside the K12 Cyber Forward portal](https://k12cyberforward.com/tour): A visual tour of what participating districts get in the private portal, shown with illustrative sample content. - [For superintendents and cabinet leaders](https://k12cyberforward.com/for-superintendents): What superintendents and cabinets get: a common view of priorities, owned improvement work and board-ready reporting. - [For technology directors and district IT teams](https://k12cyberforward.com/for-technology-directors): The technology director workflow: rubric baseline, crosswalks, improvement plan, evidence locker, tabletop exercises and vendor tracking. - [For business officials and finance leaders](https://k12cyberforward.com/for-business-officials): For CFOs and business officials: readiness evidence for renewals and an explainer of the optional, separately governed member-funded pool (no coverage promise). - [Frequently asked questions](https://k12cyberforward.com/faq): All program FAQs (program, assessment and review, data and privacy, pool track, joining). - [Events, workshops and community](https://k12cyberforward.com/events): Community events (CyberCon GA, GLET) and program workshops;
